Sharing History Part One

K.2 The student will describe everyday life in the present and in the past and begin to recognize that things change over time.

During this lesson, the students will have the chance to explore the importance of objects and how the objects can help us understand the past.

K.2 The student will describe everyday life in the present and in the past and begin to  recognize that things change over time.
K.8 The student will demonstrate that being a good citizen involves:
a) taking turns and sharing;
c) taking care of personal belongings and respecting what belongs to others;
g) participating successfully in group settings
 Each student needs to bring in a special object
During this lesson, students will have the opportunity to talk about their own history and share it with the class.

fixed clock 90-120 Minutes
   VaDepartEd_logo K.1 The student will recognize that history describes events and people of other time
K.6 The student will match simple descriptions of work that people do with the names of those jobs
K.8 The student will demonstrate that being a good citizen involves:
a) taking turns and sharing;
c) taking care of personal belongings and respecting what belongs to others;
g) participating successfully in group settings
 Each student needs to bring in a special object
During this lesson, the students will have the opportunity to role-play working at a museum. They will have the opportunity to show off their skills to other classes and parents.
